Medieval copper alloy buckle plate. Rectangular plate, broken at fold, slot for (missing) pin, rivet hole behind pin slot and two at attachment edge. Engraved decoration consisting of a rocker arm border with two longitudinal lines either side of a central scrolled leaf motif. Back-plate missing. Length 30mm. Width 15mm. 12th - 13th century.

Late medieval or early post-medieval copper alloy locking arm buckle. Rectangular frame with rectangular-sectioned sides drilled for separate spindle and (broken) locking arm. Cast pin with transverse pierced oval-sectioned lug to attach to bar. The outside edge of the larger loop has a transverse flange, the upper edges of the frame concave with a notch at either end. Measuring 29 x 17mm (excluding arm). Width 32 including arm. See similar examples in Whitehead (2003, 89, no.552 - 4). This type of buckle is now thought to date from c. 1500 AD.
