Stone axehead. Pointed oval section, rounded butt expanding with slightly convex sides to a curved cutting edge from which a large recent chip is missing. Polished over most of the surface, large chip / damage on one face at butt end. Length 192mm. Maximum width 79.5mm. Maximum thickness 46mm.

Neolithic (?)quartzite polished stone axehead with irregular oval section. Heavily damaged at blade and but end from re-use as a hammer stone or crushing tool. Surviving length 117mm. Maximum surviving width 63mm. Maximum surviving thickness 40mm. 4000 - 2350 BC.

A Neolithic fully polished stone axe of pale olive colour with a few minor ancient chips to both ends. There is a larger sub-conchoidal recent damage flake removed towards the middle of one face, the stone in this facet is of a grey/green nature and is unpatinated showing the original colour of the rock. The lateral edges are sharply faceted and the cutting edge shows signs of being re-flaked and reground, thus the axe may have been much larger originally. Surviving dimensions: 114.5 x 65 x 32mm.
