Fragment of a medieval silver pin, comprising a polyhedral pinhead and the stub of a collared shaft. The surviving part of the shaft is circular in section with a thicker, circular collar. The pin-head is in the form of a cube with the corners cut off, creating lozengiform and triangular facets. Post-medieval silver, gilded ball-headed pin. Hollow head, the probable join between the upper and lower haves concealed by a median wire rib, decorated above and below with five wire annulets around a central annulet, the upper of which contains a pellet, the lower the springing of the broken, circular-sectioned pin. The head is gilded, with no trace of additional missing pellets. Head height 10mm. Diameter 11mm. Diameter of shank 2.5mm. Weight 2.09g. Circa 16th century.

An incomplete post-medieval silver gilt ball-headed pin, most of the shank missing. Filigree decoration on the hollow-cast head is decorated with a median band below three roundels, three pellets within much smaller roundels and a larger pellet at the top. Apart from the latter feature the treatment below the band is the same (one pellet has been lost). A smaller than average example of an otherwise typical Tudor dress-pin. Length greater than 14.5mm. Head diameter 7.5mm. Shank diameter 1.7mm. Weight 0.82g. 16th century.

The hollow head is divided into four segments by vertical lengths of filigree wire, the spaces between them being filled with alternating S-shaped and reverse S-shaped filigree spirals. One of the former is incomplete. Silvery solder is visible around the junction of the head and the separately made shank. Shank diameter 1.7mm. The spiral decoration indicates that this belongs to Margeson's (1995) early group. 8th - 9th century.
