Mesolithic soft hammer struck tertiary blade of orange patinated semi-translucent flint with fine use wear to both lateral edges. Perhaps used as a small hand held trimming knife for light cutting tasks. 32 x 15 x 2.5 mm.

Late Upper Palaeolithic long blade which appears to be struck with a soft hammer from a single platform core. Flake directions are difficult to observe as the piece is heavily patinated white with some small areas of spotty iron staining. The proximal end is missing, broken recently and revealing unpatinated black flint. One lateral edge has been steeply retouched along its length at a later date, perhaps during the Neolithic or Bronze Age and has a light grey patination. Such re-use is uncommon, but not unknown.
