Opposing faces marked 4 / 3, 5 / 2, 6 (very worn, traces of three ring and dots only survive) / 1 (survives as central dot only), Biddle (1990, 693) type Ai. Weighing 0.75g.

Basal mount with two (distorted) rectangular strap loops and Y-shaped upright rotating stem for the suspension of two horse harness pendants. An unusual feature is the bifurcation near the top of the stem, just above which the two parts split into two round-ended pierced arms. Normally the stem holds a banner or a single pendant set sideways at the top (N. Griffiths FRG Datasheet 5 (1986) figs .22-3) or multiple arms (normally four) spring from a rotating sphere (ibid. figs. 24-5). Loops c.15 x 6mm internally. Length c.57mm. Height 43mm. Copper alloy seal matrix, flat with pierced lug on reverse. Pointed oval, 39 x 24mm. St Margaret of Antioch, under a church-like canopy, holding a cross-shaped staff and standing on a dragon. S’ PRIOR’ FRM PENIE Ih’V XPI LENIE (Seal of the Prior of the Brothers of Penitence of Jesus Christ of Lynn). There are contractions marks above M, IE, P and EN. The N’s are retrograde. The house of the Friars of the Sack or De Penitentia in Lynn had been founded by 1272(Emery 1943; 325) and was suppressed in or before 1307.

Hexagonal sectioned bow with a pair of median grooves along its back from the head to foot, tapering slightly towards foot which has a flat, blunt terminal, most of catch-plate survives. Pilgrim badge. Poorly cast copper alloy depicting the Virgin and Child within the horns of a crescent. The Virgin is shown from the waist up, her head surrounded by a glory, her right hand is raised in blessing, her hair falls over her left shoulder and she is possibly holding a sceptre. CURATOR'S REPORT 17th Century silver button Description Composite three-piece biconvex silver button, the underside of which is now squashed and a distorted, with a D-sectioned wire loop. Engraved decoration on the top consists of a six-petalled flower within a circle and with the spaces between the petals filled with parallel lines, all set within a band of short oblique lines between two concentric circles. There are two blow-holes on the reverse.

Silver gilt dress hook. The plate, which is cast in one, is in the form of a four petalled rosette with four conical bosses, and has a central hole where a fifth decorative element would have been held in place by a rivet, now missing. On the reverse there is a large scar where the (missing) hook was soldered into place. The transverse attachment bar, also soldered into place, is stamped with the makers mark AK.
