Gold rotating dorsal muff from a torc. A composite ring constructed of six components comprising two broad semi-circular-sectioned concentric hollow ribs (or tubes) between three narrow twisted wires (probably square-sectioned) soldered to a sheet inner part. The twisted wires appear very worn. The surface of the inner sheet has concentric wear and scratches where the separate parts of the torc were twisted together. External diameter 24mm. Fragment, probably from an Iron Age torc or bracelet, or a Roman bracelet. Two circular-sectioned strands of gold, each tapering slightly from one cut end to the other, twisted around each other. Total length 39mm. Diameter of strands at narrow end circa 2.5mm, diameter at the thicker end circa 3.5 - 4mm. Weight 7.5g. For potentially similar examples see PAS-845331 (Iron Age torc), SWYOR-CFE7F7 (Iron Age bracelet) and a 3rd-century bracelet in the collections of the British Museum (museum number 1883,1213.375).

A Merovingian tremissis of hitherto unknown type with a fragment of either another tremissis or decorated gold sheet adhering to it. The obverse depicts a diademed bust facing right with the retrograde legend BASOI FIT BH, the reverse probably a long-cross on globe, flanked by the letters AB (B retrograde) and the legend, VNE[...]S[..]X[..]S. A gold finger ring, now distorted. A mourning ring with a shallow D-sectioned band, decorated with a simple stylised skull with teeth, eye sockets and nasal cavity, but missing the mandible. Two tiny particles of black may be all that remains of black enamel, but thet are too small to be certain. Inscribed internally RH oB 17 ° oct 87 (RH died 17th October 1687). At the beginning of the inscription is a stamped makers mark, an H within a square, or possibly an I with wide crossbars, set obliquely. Width of band 4mm. Weight 3.04g. Date: 1687

Gold finger-ring with circular collet, in the form of a quatrefoil, set with a turquoise cabochon. The narrow hoop of flattened D-section is decorated at the shoulders with foliar motifs and with inlaid dark blue enamel at the terminals. The collet can be compared with that of a ring from Newball, Lincolnshire, which was dated to the late 15th or early 16th century. (Treasure Annual Report 2003, 108, no. 194). Early Saxon gold composite spangles or pendant: a square sheet plate is set lozenge-wise and pierced for suspension at one corner, the top of the perforation is almost worn through. Wire rings with wound ends hang from the other three corners, each holding a smaller square sheet plate pierced for suspension in one corner. A gold posy ring, D-shaped in section. Inscribed internally 'Loue i,s' the bond of peace' with a stamped, worn makers mark consisting of HB (ligatured) stamped in relief within a square. Tiny traces of possible niello survive in some of the letters. The marks on either side of the s may be unintentional as, although clear, they are slightly irregular. The lettering is similar to that on an example from Firle, East Sussex (Treasure Annual Report 2004, 296, fig. 315), dated 1696. External diameter 20mm, internal diameter 16.5mm. Iron Age coin hoard consisting of two gold staters. Both are Norfolk wolf staters, so-called JB types with a left facing wolf (Cottam et al 2010, Ancient British Coinage, p.78, no.1399). The two coins were found approximately 40 yards apart and they must represent part of a dispersed coin hoard. The larger, paler example weighs 5.14g, the smaller, darker coin 5.27g. The coins were made between about 50-20 BC. Date of loss of deposition will have been in the closing decades of the first century BC, c.30-10BC

The plain, pointed oval-sectioned band, now distorted, tapers slightly from the collet to the rear. There are no marks. Width of bezel 11.5mm x 10mm. Height 7mm. Flat-sectioned band expanding smoothly from the rear to the bezel with a separate strip of gold soldered to form an oval setting for a cabouchon stone, probably garnet, which appears black in daylight, but red under strong light. The ring is complete but distorted. Mid - late Roman, 200 - 400 AD. Width at bezel 7.5mm. Weight 4.6g. Original external diameter (estimated) 16mm. A medieval finger-ring set with a sapphire. It has suffered considerable damage, the hoop now distended. The form is a decorated stirrup shape, with two four-petaled flowers forming the shoulders and two others symmetrically decorating the hoop. The damage to the ring has removed much of the inscription, which would have covered the external face of the hoop. The traces of some letters can be discerned. They read as follows: ......V... R(?)DEFIN The "N" is reversed. The original meaning of the inscription cannot be established.
