Medieval silver annular brooch. Oval-sectioned frame with four evenly spaced gilded flat rectangular octofoils soldered to the upper face. The incomplete cast pin is broken just after a collar covered in closely spaced stamped annulets. Diameter (excluding octofoils) 23 - 25mm. Diameter across frame 1.5mm Weight 1.78g. Annular brooches with separate flat bosses soldered to the upper face of the frame are a well known type with multiple recorded examples, including NMS-D8B8F2, BUC-25AA82, LIN-7B8826 and LIN-E8F3D0. Late 13th - early 14th century.

Flat-sectioned frame with two opposed oval collets which taper towards the top, one containing a purple cabochon stone, probably amethyst or garnet, the other a blue cabochon, perhaps a sapphire. There is a flanged transverse ridge on the upper face at either side of the narrowing for the cast pin. The pin is D-sectioned, with a half round segmented collar next to the loop. Description: Early Anglo-Saxon incomplete cast gilded silver mount, possibly part of a sword pommel. Triangular in cross-section, hollow on the underside, with one closed end surviving, but broken before the other end; the break is neither particularly fresh nor particularly worn. The object is shaped like a prism, with the apex straight across the top of the object; while the lower edge, if originally symmetrical, is bi-concave (one curve survives and the lower edge slopes up to probably begin another). Middle Bronze Age, 1400-1200 BC. Measuring >30 x >113mm. Fragment of copper alloy rapier. The blade is broken at both ends with the remains of two rivet-holes in the hafting-plate. There is a flat median rib and the edges are damaged. A palstave (without loop, with a shield pattern on the blade which is defined on the sides by shoulders, measuring 135mm long, blade width 64mm, max. width of butt 22mm. Cf. Savory, 1980, 169, fig.21, no.148 for a similar example) was found at the same site in 1990, and it is therefore possible that these two items are part of a hoard.

Incomplete medieval silver finger ring. Rectangular bezel with a diagonally set cross-crosslets filled with niello and a tiny tear-drop shaped blind hole in each of the central internal angles. At the edge on each side of the bezel there are two short indentations or dashes. The oval-sectioned broken hoop survives on one side only with multiple transverse cracks resulting from bending, and a longitudinal internal groove probably the result of hammering the edges. A gold posy ring, D-shaped in section. Inscribed internally 'Loue i,s' the bond of peace' with a stamped, worn makers mark consisting of HB (ligatured) stamped in relief within a square. Tiny traces of possible niello survive in some of the letters. The marks on either side of the s may be unintentional as, although clear, they are slightly irregular. The lettering is similar to that on an example from Firle, East Sussex (Treasure Annual Report 2004, 296, fig. 315), dated 1696. External diameter 20mm, internal diameter 16.5mm.
