Late medieval or post-medieval copper alloy buckle. Double-oval frame with narrowed central bar with filed grooves defining a transverse rib on the frame at either end of the bar. Two transverse grooves on one outside edge form the pin rest. The sheet pin is broken, and has patinated a different shade of green from the frame. Measuring 30 x 25mm. See Whitehead (2003, 54, no.302) for a broadly similar example. 1400 - 1650.

Two Late Saxon pennies found 30m apart. Both are PAX type pennies of Harold II Godwinson dating to 1066 and both are, furthermore, struck from the same pair of dies. The moneyer is Godric of Thetford. It is inconceivable that two coins of this period struck from the same pair of dies could have come to be lost separately so closely together and we are surely dealing with part of a group of coins that went into the ground together. Medieval silver annular brooch. Circular frame, circular-sectioned, constricted for the pin. The pin has a transverse ridge decorated with a line of closely spaced stamped annulets next to the loop. The frame is decorated with two strands of twisted silver wire spiralling in opposite directions around the frame. Gilding survives on both the frame and pin. Frame (external) 23 x 19mm, (internal) 17 x 14.5mm. Weight 2.6g. Although annular brooches are a very well-known medieval artefact type, no very close parallel for this type of decoration has been found. 13th - 14th century.

It is possible that the twisted ends of the connecting loop were inserted into leather or cloth leaving the two rings to act as suspension loops, although the fitting would have been unable to take much weight. Pierced silver siliqua of Gratian, reverse VIRTVS ROMANORVM type, mintmark and further details illegible, slightly clipped and with relatively wide (2-3mm) piercing near edge (which has worn through) between 2 and 3 o'clock (obverse), weight 1.22g, AD378-83 The worn piercing shows that this coin has been reused as a pendant and thus qualifies at an item of Treasure. It is quite worn but not excessively so. The reuse as a pendant probably belongs to the 5th century although a late Roman reuse cannot be ruled out.

Two circular buttons each with a downturned edge and flange, decorated with a crown above two hearts with two pellets between on a stippled ground within an elaborate quatrefoil border. Separate soldered loops on the reverse are connected by an oval, sub-oval sectioned loop. There is a stamped maker's mark on the loop, now too worn to read. The crowned hearts may refer to the marriage of Charles II to Catherine of Braganza in 1662. Diameter of buttons 14mm. Loop 16 x 8mm. Weight 2.16g.
