Description: Early Anglo-Saxon gold and garnet pendant, oval and slightly narrower at the apex than at the base. The sheet back-plate is rolled forward at the upper end to make a suspension loop with four longitudinal ribs. The setting comprises a dark red cabochon stone, presumably a garnet, with an off-centre angled polished face, set within a plain collar formed from a strip of gold sheet, the join clearly visible. Late Bronze Age gold pendant: one end of a slightly bent round-sectioned shank has been hammered into a D-sectioned loop, while the other expands into a conical terminal on which another object may have swivelled. Formerly described as probably Roman, it has been reassigned, by Caroline Barton and Ben Roberts of the British Museum, to the Late Bronze Age on the basis of its similarity to a copper alloy example in the Boughton Malherbe (Kent) hoard (PAS KENT-15A293). Gold Serjeants-at-Law finger ring. Rectangular sectioned, now squashed, engraved with a cross paté followed by . These rings were distributed by people joining the Order of Serjeants-at-Law. Rings distributed at the same call all had the same motto whether an individual or several people were joining the order. The motto 'LEX VITA REGVM' was used on rings of the general call of April 1567 when seven people became Serjeants-at-Law.
