Fragment of probable Middle or Late Bronze Age gold sheet strip or ribbon ornament decorated on one face with eleven longitudinal grooves. One end has been cut transversely or broken neatly, while the other convex end is apparently complete although crumpled and split across a single piercing. Width 10mm. Thickness less than 1mm. Length (unbent) c. 48mm. Weight 3.1g. For notes on Bronze Age ribbon ornaments see Treasure Annual Report 2007 47-8, nos. 38 and 39. c.1300 - c.800 BC. Fragment of gold sheet strip, one straight end complete, the other missing. Throughout its length one long edge is folded over by 1 - 1.5mm. Eight longitudinal grooves cover the remainder of the object apart from a narrow strip along the other edge, which was probably once also folded over. Possibly Bronze Age.
