Probably Roman, fragment of unidentified object: >1mm thick, probably cast plate, broken at both ends but with apparently original curving inner and outer edges. 12mm wide at both breaks, it widens towards the centre where there is round perforation (diammeter 6mm) and, on the outer edge, a sub-square, thickened lug. If the complete object was annular and had an opposing lug, it would have measured c.70mm, with an internal diameter of c.30mm.

Fragment of gold sheet from an unidentified object. The sheet is folded forming a front and back-plate the edges of which are torn, except for the lower edge of the back-plate which appears neatly cut, and the straight folded edge. The front-plate is decorated with a row of stamped dots above a row of repoussé pellets parallel with the folded edge, the lower edge possibly torn along a third row of pellets or dots. Surviving dimensions 12 x 7mm. Weight 0.4g. Although ancient (over 300 years old) the decoration would be consistent with a Bronze Age, Roman or Early Medieval date, and…

Incomplete copper alloy Roman object, perhaps an unusual button-and-loop fastener, handle, or unidentified object. Rectangular boss, flat on the reverse, with cusped or concave sides rising to form a central rectangular socket which is now partially filled by iron corrosion. The upper edges of the socket are broken. Projecting from the side and reverse of one short edge is a short, rounded projection, perhaps broken on the underside, which may represent the remains of the shank of a button-and-loop fastener. There are no apparent breaks or scars on any of the other edges, so this does…

Unidentified object. Copper alloy flat disc stamped on one face with 12 triangles in a circle, points facing inwards, around a very slightly raised circular moulding around a central rectangular hole. Plain on the reverse. There is a very small amount of possible decayed enamel on one triangle. The edges of the disc are certainly complete around most of the circumference but there are abraded patches which may be breaks. Diameter 20mm. Thickness 1.5mm. Weight 2.76g. Probably Roman, perhaps part of a brooch. See for example Hattatt, 2000, 351, fig.210, no.1062. Also similar to a button…

Unidentified Roman copper alloy object, possibly a furniture fitting, mount or brooch. Now sub-circular, the edges damaged with probably no original edge surviving, slightly convex on the reverse with a central shallow blind hole. On the front face is a circular rib in high relief, the surface concave internally, with a large central pellet. Maximum surviving diameter 32mm. Thickness 6mm.

Fragment of an unidentified copper alloy Roman object. Rectangular-sectioned trefoil projection (one small central foil with a longer, downward curving foil to either side) on the outside of an originally circular frame almost all of which is missing. For a more complete but still unidentified example, see BH-88BC87. Perhaps part of an elaborate key handle. Width (from outside edge of projection to inside edge of frame) 18mm. Thickness 4mm. Width of projection (tip to tip of side foils) 17mm.
