Fragment of silver Roman finger ring. The rear and one side of the oval to D-sectioned hoop is missing, expanding smoothly from the breaks through the shoulders before small notches on either side defining the edge of the oval bezel. The shoulders are decorated with a pair of grooves following each edge. In the centre of the bezel a plain, integral oval boss stands in relief imitating a setting. Bone pin, bodkin or toilet article, probably Roman, perhaps post-medieval. Sub-oval sectioned shaft, straight-sided before tapering smoothly for just under half its length to a broken tip. The head, which is crudely finished, is formed from (from the shaft up) a bi-conical moulding, a flanged moulding, a thinned sub-rectangular panel tapering at the upper end before a thicker sub-triangular or shield-shaped panel (point upwards), terminating in a large circular loop. There are file marks over much of the shaft and head.

Roman copper alloy hinged Colchester Derivative (dolphin) brooch. Circular-sectioned wings open at either end with traces of iron corrosion from the axis bar, stub of broken pin protrudes from the slot, incomplete sub-rectangular sectioned bow, the foot missing. The brooch is worn and corroded with no trace of any decoration except for a curved groove on the upper face separating the start of the bow from the wings. Width 45mm. Surviving length 38mm. Roman silver finger ring. D-sectioned band with slight internal median arris, widening and thickening smoothly from the rear of the hoop to the front. There is a narrow moulding at either edge of the band on slightly less than half of the upper face of the ring either side of the otherwise undefined shoulders and bezel. External diameter 16mm. Internal diameter 11.5mm. Maximum width 5mm. Maximum thickness 3mm. Weight 1.9g. The simplicity of the ring makes close dating difficult.

Plain on the reverse. There is a very small amount of possible decayed enamel on one triangle. Roman copper alloy sprung dolphin brooch. C-sectioned wings with concave mouldings and damaged ends, triangular-sectioned bow with slightly concave sides and a median longitudinal groove. Only the stub of the catch-plate survives. The reverse of the wings are partially filled with corroded iron, with iron corrosion cover parts of the surface on the front and back of the wings and bow and on either side of the catch-plate. The surface is corroded and pitted. Pin missing. Surviving length 40mm. Surviving width 23mm.

Four base silver radiates fused together in a pile. Given this feature they clearly entered the ground in a similar position and, since they are of base silver, they furnish a case of Treasure. The only legible portions are provided by the face visible at each end of the pile, an obverse of Postumus from his Principal Mint and another of Gallienus from the Gallic Mint operating in the late 250s (with a GALLIENVS.P.F.AVG legend, radiate and cuirassed bust right). Both coins are in sharp condition with little wear and the loss or deposition most probably occurred in the 260s.

Copper alloy handle from unidentified implement. Sub-rectangular sectioned with bevelled corners, swelling from a double moulded collar at one end and a triple moulded collar at the other to an off-centre double-ribbed moulding. The handle is hollow with a rectangular aperture forming a slot through the collar at one end and a smaller rectangular aperture at the other to accommodate the tange of a missing, probably double-ended iron tool, although no trace of iron corrosion survives.

The head, wings and pin are missing, the bow double moulded above and below an expanded rectangular plate with two deep transverse grooves between which are four rectangular cells filled alternately with red and blue enale. The expanded foot has three triangular cells, the upper cell filled with red enamel, the lower two with blue. On the reverse is an incomplete catch-plate.

Fragment of probably military harness pendant, upper end with rounded shoulders, face with vertical median panel decorated with engraved bordering lines and ending in twin loops at apex containing corroded iron pin for suspension, lower end missing, 17 x at least 21mm. Date uncertain.
