Incomplete Romano-British copper alloy protected-loop terret. Just over half of the circular-sectioned ring, which springs from a collar with a deep groove on each long face, is missing. Almost all of the original edge of the skirt is missing, the one short section of surviving edge possibly suggesting a multifoil form, with a curved, round-sectioned attachment loop benieth. The surviving part of the ring, which does not appear to be distorted, shows the loop was a shallow oval. Surviving height 32mm. Surviving length and width of skirt 32mm and 24mm. Late 1st century.

Thin gold sheet disc, now distorted, with repoussé decoration consisting of a central eye surrounded by (clockwise) a horse / winged horse or lion, phallus, crab, phallus, snake or tendril with leaf-shaped terminal, scorpion, an arrow, and a bow and arrow. A single Roman gold coin, a solidus of Arcadius, found in exactly the same area as a hoard of 26 late Roman gold solidi and 4 silver siliquae discovered in 1993. This coin is plainly part of the same hoard, missed during the 1993 excavations. It was struck in 394-5, a date that exactly accords with the latest coins in the hoard and its crisp, almost mint state, similar to that of the other coins of this date present, suggests that it had not been in circulation long when the hoard was buried. A group of 39 sestertii dupondii and asses, the latest legible specimen of which dates to the reign of Gordian III. Although the date range spreads over more than a century, they form a compact group and their wear patterns are consistent with coins lost or buried together, the earlier coins generally showing more wear than the later ones. Two late Roman silver siliquae, both rather heavily clipped, one of Theodosius and the other of Honorius. The coins have a little wear but not much. The phenomenon of clipping siliquae seems to belong to the very last years of the 4th century and the early years of the 5th. The latest coin was struck between 395 and 402, suggesting a date of loss or deposition in the early years of the 5th century.
