Bone pin, bodkin or toilet article, probably Roman, perhaps post-medieval. Sub-oval sectioned shaft, straight-sided before tapering smoothly for just under half its length to a broken tip. The head, which is crudely finished, is formed from (from the shaft up) a bi-conical moulding, a flanged moulding, a thinned sub-rectangular panel tapering at the upper end before a thicker sub-triangular or shield-shaped panel (point upwards), terminating in a large circular loop. There are file marks over much of the shaft and head.
