Roman flat, gold openwork link or part of clasp, probably from a necklace or similar item of jewellery. Formed from rectangular-sectioned cut strips of gold, an originally oval or circular frame around three pelta-shaped strips arranged with curved backs meeting in the centre and spiralled ends touching the frame. Broken, now triangular with two surviving sides set at slightly wider than 90 degrees, slightly raised plain repoussé border and elaborate openwork in a D-shaped panel in the surviving corner and broken across a curved panel, perhaps circular when complete. Miniature silver sword. The blade is straight sided for most of its length before curving inwards to the point. The edges on both faces are bevelled. The rectangular hilt guard, handle and rectangular pommel are flat sectioned. There are two circular piercings, one through the hilt guard and one through the top of blade, probably for rivets rather than suspension. The sword is now slightly bent at the top of the blade. Copper alloy handle from unidentified implement. Sub-rectangular sectioned with bevelled corners, swelling from a double moulded collar at one end and a triple moulded collar at the other to an off-centre double-ribbed moulding. The handle is hollow with a rectangular aperture forming a slot through the collar at one end and a smaller rectangular aperture at the other to accommodate the tange of a missing, probably double-ended iron tool, although no trace of iron corrosion survives. Length 60mm. Maximum width 12 x 10mm.

The upper face is engraved with a naked male standing figure facing left holding stems of corn in his left hand, and an unidentified object is his right, with drapery falling from his left arm. The group comprises four silver denarii. The earliest, showing some wear, is of Domitian whilst the other three are in crisper condition and show very little signs of circulation. All of these three date to the reign of Antoninus Pius. It seems likely that the four coins went into the ground together, either lost as part of a purse, or concealed as a hoard. This loss or deposition, on the basis of the condition of the coins, presumably occurred in the 150s or 160s. Treasure report by Adrian Marsden: A hoard of cu alloy objects found in close association with one another and very close to a radiate imitation manufacturer's hoard found in November 2004 (see file). These comprise two RB bracelets and 10 sestertii of the second century. The coins, where condition at deposition can be ascertained, were all heavily worn, suggesting a mid-third century date. Five silver denarii and one silver radiate, found in a close area and running in a straight line as if scattered by the plough. Roman copper alloy strap-mounted and skirted terret ring. The oval-sectioned loop is broken with just under half surviving, above a collar before a lozengiform skirt with rounded knops at each corner. The skirt is angled down at the front and back, and up at each side, partially concealing an oval-sectioned, curved attachment loop. One side of the skirt is missing. Incomplete Romano-British copper alloy protected-loop terret. Just over half of the circular-sectioned ring, which springs from a collar with a deep groove on each long face, is missing. Almost all of the original edge of the skirt is missing, the one short section of surviving edge possibly suggesting a multifoil form, with a curved, round-sectioned attachment loop benieth. The surviving part of the ring, which does not appear to be distorted, shows the loop was a shallow oval. Surviving height 32mm. Surviving length and width of skirt 32mm and 24mm. Late 1st century.
