The eight coins were discovered dispersed over a small area. The group comprises eight silver denarii. The earliest is of Julia Domna, whilst the latest are of the last members of the Severan dynasty, Elagabalus, Severus Alexander, Julia Soaemias, Julia Maesa and Julia Paula. None show much signs of wear although some are rather accreted due to the low silver content of the coins. It seems likely that the eight coins went into the ground together, either lost as part of a purse, or concealed as a hoard. A cast copper alloy Roman figurine of a ram. It is well modelled with the raised head turned slightly to one side. It has curling horns, incised pointed oval shaped eyes and details on the horns and coat with a scalloped skirt around body. The recessed underside is roughly finished and has a small rectangular central depression. The legs and tail are broken. It is 42mm in length and at least 35mm wide. The ram and the goat are cult emblems of Mercury and either can be shown accompanying the god (Green 1978, 26).

On both wings a pair of baluster mouldings with a very thin wavy-line rib between them. The bow has a median arris on the reverse and on the convex front a median groove down the centre of which another thin wavy-line rib. Both groove and rib descend to the foot. Oval plate with an inner and outer raised rib around a central setting containing a pointed oval dark brown or black glass stone, the glass cracked and with a chip missing. The fields between the ribs are filled with pairs of tiny stamped lines with an annulet at each end. On the reverse is a broken pin-lug and complete but squashed rectangular catch-plate. Fragment of silver Roman finger ring. The rear and one side of the oval to D-sectioned hoop is missing, expanding smoothly from the breaks through the shoulders before small notches on either side defining the edge of the oval bezel. The shoulders are decorated with a pair of grooves following each edge. In the centre of the bezel a plain, integral oval boss stands in relief imitating a setting. Roman - Early Saxon copper alloy propeller-shaped military belt stiffener, twin perforations in both sub-triangular ends (one contains a copper alloy rivet), oval expansion in the centre decorated with a double ring-and-dot. The outside edges are chamfered with some damage at both ends. Length 42mm. Width 18mm. 4th century (Clarke 1979, 285), but such objects occur in Early Anglo-Saxon contexts (Macgregor and Bolick 1993, 210 and 212, cat. nos. 36.8 and 9).
