Roman flat, gold openwork link or part of clasp, probably from a necklace or similar item of jewellery. Formed from rectangular-sectioned cut strips of gold, an originally oval or circular frame around three pelta-shaped strips arranged with curved backs meeting in the centre and spiralled ends touching the frame. Fragment of silver Roman finger ring. The rear and one side of the oval to D-sectioned hoop is missing, expanding smoothly from the breaks through the shoulders before small notches on either side defining the edge of the oval bezel. The shoulders are decorated with a pair of grooves following each edge. In the centre of the bezel a plain, integral oval boss stands in relief imitating a setting. A silver Roman Republican denarius of Julius Caesar, dating to the period c.47-46 BC (Reece Period 1). CAESAR (downwards) reverse type depicting Aeneas left, carrying palladium in right hand and Anchises on left shoulder. African mint. As RRC p. 471, no. 458/1. The coin was discovered in the same location as a hoard of 21 silver coins found 1994 (14 coins) and 1995 (7 coins)[1]. Roman intaglio. Oval carnelian with flat upper face and bevelled edges on the reverse, with a thin rectangular-sectioned gold band around the edge. The upper face is engraved with a naked male standing figure facing left holding stems of corn in his left hand, and an unidentified object is his right, with drapery falling from his left arm. SECVND INI is engraved on the left edge of the gem in retrograde, the N and D ligatured. Measuring 13 x 10mm. Thickness 2mm. Weight 0.5g. 43 - 410 AD.

Incomplete Romano-British copper alloy protected-loop terret. Just over half of the circular-sectioned ring, which springs from a collar with a deep groove on each long face, is missing. Almost all of the original edge of the skirt is missing, the one short section of surviving edge possibly suggesting a multifoil form, with a curved, round-sectioned attachment loop benieth. The surviving part of the ring, which does not appear to be distorted, shows the loop was a shallow oval. Surviving height 32mm. Surviving length and width of skirt 32mm and 24mm. Late 1st century.
