Late medieval or early post-medieval gold posy ring. Very shallow D-sectioned band decorated externally with three rows of stamped square cells leaving a grid pattern in low relief. There is no trace of inlay surviving in the cells. Inscribed internally in roman capitals CONTINV x CONSTANT x. A small worn mark at the beginning of the inscription is probably another x. The ring is now bent out of shape and damaged in several places. Both the external decoration and internal inscription have several parallels including LON-DD00A6 and IOW-1C6D62. Width of band 3mm. The S of 'consent' is elongated, and the 'e' following it only partially engraved. Width of band 3mm. External diameter 19mm. Internal diameter 16.5mm. Weight 1.8g. There are several similar examples in the collections of the British Museum, including Museum Number 1961,1202.82. 17th - 18th century.

Post-medieval gold signet ring. The band is flat internally with three external facets, expanding smoothly through the shoulders before a flat, octagonal bezel. The bezel is deeply engraved with a beaded border around a shield bearing A lion rampant, the helm is unusually small and is crowned with a ducal coronet above which the crest comprises A boar's head couped. Shallow D-sectioned hoop expanding to form rosettes or a foliate motif in low relief either side of a rectangular bezel on which a heart bisected by two arrows is reserved on a stippled field. Although no record of a similar finger ring has been found, a heart and arrows on a stippled ground is well paralleled on later 17th century cuff-links, although the heart is usually flaming.
