Late Bronze Age penannular ring fragment, or 'ring money'. Sub-oval-section, slightly flattened on the upper and lower face, with a copper alloy core and outer banded gold sheath. The banding appears lighter with an almost silvery colour on the outer face and a darker, slightly blackened appearance on the inner face. Broken at both ends with possible traces of having been cut or chopped. The exposed copper alloy surface is fairly corroded, suggesting ancient breaks. See NMS-5D0C86 for a similar complete example. Middle Bronze Age copper alloy palstave axehead. Straight-sided, wedge-shaped butt end, with side flanges rising to form a stop-ridge with a small, narrow loop on one side. A Late Bronze Age hoard consisting of 17 objects or fragments of objects discovered during metal-detecting in an area "8 paces by 10 paces" in plough soil. None of the fragments join and none seem likely to be parts of the same object. It is highly likely that two socketed axe heads previously recorded from the same area in 1988 and 1955 also formed part of this hoard, and also possible that a palstave axe head found in the same area in 1969 formed part of the original deposit. Middle Bronze Age composite penannular gold ring, now almost straightened, comprising two ribs formed from separate c-sectioned bars with convex upper faces and hollow on the reverse, joined longitudinally. One end is complete and unbroken, the other slightly distorted, the join between the two ribs separated at the terminal, but either cut very neatly or also complete. Late Bronze Age gold pendant: one end of a slightly bent round-sectioned shank has been hammered into a D-sectioned loop, while the other expands into a conical terminal on which another object may have swivelled. Formerly described as probably Roman, it has been reassigned, by Caroline Barton and Ben Roberts of the British Museum, to the Late Bronze Age on the basis of its similarity to a copper alloy example in the Boughton Malherbe (Kent) hoard (PAS KENT-15A293).
