Silver possible mount. A thin strip of beaten metal decorated with incised comma-shaped curls between rouletted lines, and with zones infilled by vertical hatching. Bend to penannular form, and possibly a binding from a cane or whip stock. The thickness of the metal is a feature it shares with various items of silver scrap to which a Victorian date is usually attributable.
