Silver finger ring. Cast iconographic finger ring with a rectangular bezel divided into two fields like a diptych by a central ridge, each occupied by the image of a robed saint facing: the one to the left holds a miniature church in patronal style, and both figures have disproportionately large heads. The shoulders of the ring are subdivided by a central ridge oriented at right angles to that on the bezel, and to either side of each shoulder ridge is a series of five pairs of diagonally incised lines, mostly infilled by transverse strokes and together giving the effect of chevrons, or…

Silver finger ring fragment. Cast 'TOT' ring, comprising a round flat bezel which stands proud of a remaining sub-triangular shoulder with engrailed edges, and with a short [12mm] length of a narrower band projecting beyond it. Possibly of Henig type VIII [8].A pair of lines are incised along the shoulder and a stamped or drilled pit is set outside these lines to either side. The unseriffed letters T T are incised on the bezel, both being c.5mm high, with a pit of diameter c.2mm between them; together this should be read as TOT, a contraction of the name Toutatis. Finger rings bearing…

Silver finger ring fragment. Cast oval head and the narrower body of a snake, from a coiled snake ring. The head is of plano-convex section, though the narrower band was probably of oval or round section. A pair of elongated and diverging slashes on top of the head represents eyes or sensory pits, though now much smoothed by wear. Now bent to L shape. Suggested date: Roman, 43-410. In view of its age and material, this object is to be subjected to the Treasure process, ref. 2018 T430. Length: 16mm, Width: 6.1mm, Thickness: 1.8mm, Weight: 0.91gms

Silver finger ring fragment. TOT Ring. Cast shoulder and the larger part of the slightly raised sub-rectangular bezel of a finger ring with a thinner skirt either side of the thicker part of the band. The bezel bears the small incised letters DTO, with the very edge of another letter, probably T. The letters are simply formed, though the ends or seriffs of the T are lightly forked.A further Y-shaped curvilinear figure appears adjacent to the inscription on the shoulder, perhaps a framing element. The inscription contracts the dedicational formula Deo Toutatis, or to the god Toutatis. T…

Silver finger ring. Cast band of rectangular section, expanding to form a bezel of elongated hexagonal form bearing the moulded image of a horse galloping right against an uneven or stippled ground, possibly intended to retail enamel though no trace of colorant remains. Silver finger ring. Cast broad band of a shallow D-section, worn, nicked along one edge, and lightly distorted. Suggested date: Unknown, Early Medieval to Post-Medieval, 850-1800. Although the lack of hallmarks may suggest an early date, the plain form and lack of discernible distinctive traits leaves this question open: imported silver of more recent date might equally lack assay marks. Silver finger ring fragment. Cast fragment comprising the shoulders of a D section hoop of unvaried form and an oval bezel measuring 13mm by 10.3mm with an incised device within a casually incised rectangular frame of two orders. Silver finger ring. Cast ring with a narrow rectangular section band behind which is widened and thinned at angular shoulders which flank a central circular bezel, probably Henig Type VIII [8]. Each of the shoulders has a curved wing separated by two deep divergent grooves (one wing on one side is partly lost) with a rather crudely incised series of closely-spaced slashes at right angles to each groove. The wings bear a curved line around a pair of drilled dots, the effect being of a figure-of-eight motif. This might have presented the appearance of eyes, or perhaps even fishes, though…
