Silver possible buckle frame, as identified by the finder. A light single looped frame probably cut from sheet metal of thickness 1.1mm, with scalloped and slightly expanded outer edges. The symmetrical decoration recalls that of 18th-century knee or shoe buckles, though how this object could work is uncertain; there is no trace of a spindle or other provision for fastening, and it was clearly flimsy; perhaps a definition as a strap loop would be more satisfactory. A medieval silver buckle, consisting of an oval frame with surviving pin, and a plate folded over the bar of the frame, with a hole for the pin. The frame has a knop with punched decoration at each side of the bar; the pin has a collar with similar punched decoration at the loop around the bar. The rectangular plate is engraved with a zigzag line and series of single dots within an engraved border, along the sides and inside edge. The two rivets survive in the inside corners of the plate.
