Silver ear ring. A ring of probably drawn wire of diameter 1.4mm with its ends touching, though the nature of the closure of the ring is uncertain as one or both ends may be broken. Of what remains, one terminal appears thickened. A white powdery material appears on about half the object. The finder kindly suggests a Viking Age date, though the object type might suggest earlier periods from the Roman onwards. Suggested date: Unknown, Roman to Early Medieval, 43-1000.
