Record ID: NMS-51C617
Object type: COIN HOARD
Broad period: ROMAN
County: Norfolk
Workflow stage: Published Find published
Coin Hoard. The group comprises five silver denarii. The earliest three, showing a reasonable amount of wear, are of the Flavian dynasty whilst the other two are in crisper condition and show little sign of circulation. It seems likely that the five coins went into the ground together, either lost as part of a purse, or concealed as a hoard. This loss or deposition, on the basis of the condition of the coins, presumably occurred in the very late 2nd century or very early 3rd.
