A complete copper-alloy buckle of medieval circa 14th century date. This buckle has an integral plate and may have functioned as a spur buckle, it measures 37.5mm in total length. The frame is oval in shape and measures 18.4mm in width and 16.1mm in length The outer edge has two opposing moulded rounded knobs projecting from either end. A complete copper-alloy Romano-British cosmetic pestle. The stem of this pestle is curvilinear and it has an end loop. It measures c34.9mm in length, 5.4mm in width and 5.4mm in thickness, it has a roughly circular cross-section and the stem tapers to a rounded point. The end loop is circular in shape measuring 7.4mm externally and 2.4mm internally. This pestle would have been used with a crescent-shaped mortar with a central longitudinal groove to grind up small quantities of powder or cosmetics. A large copper-alloy stud probably of post medieval date, due to the reddish tinge of the metal. This stud has a roughly circular slightly domed head, measuring 27.9mm by 28mm in size. Projecting from the centre of the underside of the head has there is an integral spike which has a square cross-section and tapers to a sharp point, this measures 37.3mm in length and 6mm in width and thickness.

A probably Roman copper-alloy nail, probably used to attach upholstery to furntiure. This nail has a circular globular head measuring 8.8mm in diameter. It has an integral shaft which measures 13.4mm in length and 3.4mm in width at its widest point, it tapers to a point. It now has a worn faceted cross-section.

An incomplete cast copper-alloy casting jet or sprue, metal working debris. It has a circular terminal with a central stem, now incomplete projecting from the centre of the tapering face, the other face is flat and rough to the touch. The circular terminal measures c12.3mm in diameter and the whole fragment measures 11.6mm in length. Metal working debris could be Bornze Age or later in date.

Two copper-alloy early post medieval 16th century decorative strap or belt mounts. 1: Heart shaped openwork mount with a fleur de lis terminal, two parallel integral spikes on the back face, measuring 24.6mm in length and 15.4mm in width, 1.92mm in weight. 2: A quatrefoil openwork mount, two integral spikes on the back face, measuring 17.9mm by 17.9mm in size and 1.74g in weight.

A cast copper-alloy vessel rim fragment of medieval or post medieval date, circa 1300-1600 AD. This rim fragment would have had a diameter of c22cm originally, the fragment now measures 52mm in width and 37mm in depth. The rim ia angled and there is a regular circular hole through it, 5.8mm in diameter. This hole may have been to allow a cord to be attached to the rim and to perhaps hang the vessel up.

This leg and foot is triangular in cross-section and measures 38.4mm in length, 28.7mm in width and 18mm in thickness. The back face is flat and there is a transverse ridge between the leg and the foot.

A complete copper-alloy Gabor Thomas class A type 4 strap end of Anglo-Saxon, 750-1000AD, date and zoomorphic. This strap end is unusual in both its decoration and its elongated form. It measures 57.8mm in length and 14.3mm in width, it is an elongated pointed oval shape overall. The attachment end has a straight edge and is split, it has two parallel corroded iron rivets through it near to the edge. A copper-alloy stud most likely to be medieval or early post medieval in date. This stud has a circular head and an integral spike projecting from the centre of its back face. The head measures 19.5mm in diameter and is very slightly domed, the upper face has an incised six pointed star with a border around this, traces of gilding are also visible. The integral spike has a square cross-section and tapers to a point, it measures 15.7mm in length.

A 16th century copper-alloy decorative strap or belt mount. This mount has rounded terminal ends with a single triangular projection in their centre, and a swollen middle, it measures 24mm in length and 15.8mm in width. The front face is decorated with a several incised lozenge-shaped grooves and a border groove, traces of gilding can also be seen. On the back face there are two parallel integral spikes, one at either end, these would have allowed the mount to be attached to a strap or belt.

A 16th century copper-alloy decorative strap or belt mount. This mount is acorn shaped and measures 44mm in length and 24.6mm in width. The front face is decorated with the case of the acorn represented by cross-hatched grooves, there are also traces of gilding. The back face is slighly concave and has two parallel integral spkies at either end, allowing the mount to be attached to a leather strap or belt.

The ingot is of broad slug-like shape, of plano-convex section with a slight lip around the edges of the convex face; length, 49 mm. An Anglo-Saxon gold and garnet setting, originally circular but now heavily damaged, with most cells empty; plus a separate garnet and foil. A now distorted quatrefoil int he centre preserves remains of a white inlay (scientific examination (see below) suggested that this is probably shell). An incomplete decorated bone knife handle most likely to be early post medieval in date. This handle measures 44mm in surviving length, and flares towards one end from a width of 10.7mm to a width of 18.8mm. It has an oval cross-section and is 11.1mm in thickness. All faces are decorated with a flowing incised design which appears to have been done freehand, it consists of ovals with diagonal grooves within them, circles with dots in their centres and continuous spirals.
