Medieval gilt copper alloy brooch consisting of an annular frame in abraded condition and a cast pin with a collar. The frame is D-shaped in cross-section with the flat underside angled gently upwards towards the centre.  Eight radial engraved lines divide the convex front into four short and four long segments, with the latter bearing very faint traces of closely spaced multiple pecking, and one subdivided by the pin constriction. Medieval copper alloy seal matrix, hexagonally faceted handle with a slight swelling or collar below an incomplete pierced terminal. A stag's head affronté with a cross between the antlers and set within an elaborate quatrefoil. There is no legend. The stag's head with cross is a symbol of both St Eustace and St Hubert. Incomplete medieval copper alloy folding strap clasp. A composite trapezoidal frame consists of an inside edge and sides formed from one piece of sheet and a separate but fixed roller, and the attached sheet folding end is engraved with two saltires alternating with three longitudinal lines and five short lines or dashes along the fold. A bent piece of sheet may well be the incomplete part of the accompaning plate, though this remains uncertain because there is no join.
