Heavily cast medieval copper alloy buckle frame, oval, elaborate outside edge with a broad groove for the pin between two flanking grooves which converge towards the outside edge to form a point. There is also a groove at the junction with both slightly convex sides, both of which have vestigial transverse ridges at the corners. Slightly offset narrowed bar with a constriction for the missing pin. Length 19mm. Width 22.5mm. Weighs 7.04g. Outside edge 6mm thick. 13th-14th century.
