An incomplete copper alloy strap mount shaped in the form of a stylised acorn in its cup. The sub oval mount is divided by two transverse incised lines to delineate the "cip" from the "nut" of the acorn. The top of the "nut" terminates in a small rounded knop. The base of the "cup" terminates in an old break. The front of the mount is convex and the rear is hollowed. At the rear is the stub of one and a complete second integral attachment spike. A Post Medieval copper-alloy strap fitting for a sword belt, dating to c. AD 1600 - 1650. There is an integral rectangular sectioned rivet projecting outwards 2.6mm from the centre of the base, the end of which broken.
