An incomplete copper alloy hooked fitting. Possibly a dress fastener or a buckle pin. A thick bar of copper alloy with a D-shaped cross-section for much of its length, thinning into a rectangular cross section towards the hooked end. Th hooked end is tapered and bent at a right angle before curling back on itself. At the other end is also tapered and ends in a break. On one face of the bar in the centre are traces of stamped decoration of an annulet with four annulets set around it forming a rectangle. The six foils are delineated by v-shaped grooves and have rounded outer edges with a slight knop in the middle. At the rear are two attachment spikes set on the diameter at either edge behind the tips of two of the foils. A fragmentary gold artefact of unknown function. The artefact is a rectangular strip of gold sheet with a framing ridge along each long side and the surviving short end.
