Cast copper-alloy eagle figurine; portrayed with outstretched wings with its head turned to left; the head and body, including its underside, carry engraved details representing facial features and feathers; at the base of the figurine just above the legs of the eagle is an irregular breakage, the face of which is impregnated with iron corrosion; this may represent the remains of an attachment feature. This object is very closely paralleled by an eagle from Fenny Stratford, Bucks, which is attached to a circular base-plate, cf. Green. Update: these eagle figurines are not now consid…

Unidentified copper alloy fixture; corroded; consists of a rectangular shaft 4mm thick pierced by the remains of 3 rivet holes, two of which retain copper alloy pins or rivets; the shaft terminates in a rectangular lobe decorated with a central openwork quatrefoil piercing enclosed within an engraved border; the upper edge of the lobe overhangs slightly on one side and also carries a central pyramidal stud which is damaged at the tip.
