Ring made from plaited silver wire. Each strand of the plait basically consists of six wires, although in places due to the ending of various strands this drops to five or four. The wires in each strand are neatly parallel. The sides of the ring are not straight; they are C-shaped in cross-section, with the exterior of the ring convex and the interior concave. The ring is now slightly squashed, and measures 20 x 16.5 mm externally and 4 mm deep. Pointed-oval lead seal matrix, seen at Ipswich metal-detecting club. A scan of the matrix was subsequently made available. The seal matrix has a curvilinear central motif which is hard to identify. The inscription has no initial mark, and appears to read S'AMICIE SAILE, although the last part of the surname is uncertain; the IL could alternatively be an N and the E could be a C. The inscription can be translated as Seal of Amice Saile; Amice is a woman's name. 13th century.

Unidentified object made from copper alloy, in form very similar to the 'lyre-shaped' buckles used in the 15th century. It is openwork and roughly oval in outline. One end has a basically rectangular perforation and the other end has two oval perforations; these combine to form the 'lyre' shape. One of the short edges of the rectangular perforation (nearest the ovals) is incurved and has rounded corners. Fragment of a 'mustard' quern made from imported Rhenish lava. About a quarter survives; its diameter is c. 170 mm, it is c. 35 mm thick, and its central hole has a diameter of c. 40 mm. Probably an upper stone, its grinding surface is harp-dressed and the other surface is roughly pecked. 'Mustard' querns are mentioned in inventories and wills from the 17th century onwards and it is thought that these small querns are the ones referred to.

Tip of copper-alloy socketed spearhead or arrowhead, with rounded midrib. The socket extends to about 35 mm from the tip. The blade edges are mostly damaged and worn, and the main break is patinated and fairly worn. There are recent (agricultural?) scrapes to the midrib on both faces. Pottery disc, 24 mm in diameter and 5 mm thick, perhaps a counter or playing piece. One face has a large incuse letter D, with VIII in smaller lettering below. The fabric is a fine red earthenware with ferrous inclusions; this type of fabric could have been made almost anywhere in England, so gives little help in identification. The inscription could be deciphered as eight pennyweight, but in fact the disc weighs 4.47g, which is 2.87 dwt. Probably post-medieval.

Unidentified copper-alloy object. One end has a long pyramidal terminal, tapering from a maximum cross-section of 4 x 3.5 mm. Below the widest point the object then tapers again slightly to a collar, below which its cross-section is circular. The circular shaft tapers quite quickly and is bent into a loop; it ends at a globular terminal. The object is quite worn and corroded, but it appears to be complete, and the bend does not appear to have caused any stress to the metal. Date and function unknown, but it does not appear to be modern. Unbent length c. 45 mm; existing length 23 mm.

Copper-alloy pommel from a medieval sword or dagger. Viewed from the top it is slightly domed and almost circular, with seven slight facets around the edge forming a heptagon with rounded corners. The maximum 'diameter' is 29 mm. Each of the rounded corners is cut off by a broad V-shaped groove, and from either end of each one a similar groove runs at an angle to the centre. Copper-alloy shield-shaped harness mount, now slightly bent and quite worn. The shield is 30 mm long and 24 mm wide with a straight top and sides curving to a point. Three relief lions passant guardant can just be seen on the shield (the arms of England before 1340). Although these were probably reserved and gilded against a red enamel background, none of the gilding or enamel survives. Unusual object which appears to be an annular brooch. Four sides of an originally hexagonal frame survive, with a D-shaped cross-section; internally the brooch is circular.
