Head and bow from a copper-alloy small-long brooch. The head is square and has a border of deep but indistinct punchmarks around three edges, with the lowest edge next to the bow undecorated. The top and sides each have a tiny knob; the knobs are all identical, with half-round moulding decorated with a fine groove, then a broader groove, then a hemispherical terminal which may once have had a fine groove across its base. Fragment of rim from a cast copper-alloy cooking vessel. The exterior is roughly smoothed and the interior is more highly polished. The metal is a dark blackish-brown colour. The rim is thickened to give it a deep pointed-oval cross-section. The fragment measures 63 x 42 mm. The thickness of the body is generally 3 mm, but its maximum thickness at the rim is 7 mm. Fragment of rim from a cast copper-alloy cooking vessel. The exterior is roughly smoothed with a good deal of sooting from the cooking fire, and the interior is very smoothly polished. The metal is a greyish green. The rim is slightly thickened to give it a plano-convex cross-section, with the curved face on the outside. The fragment measures 53 x 37 mm. Large spherical bell made from cast copper alloy. The loop at the top is rectangular and now blocked with iron corrosion. The upper half of the bell has two circular sound holes but otherwise is undecorated. The lower half has two circular sound holes joined by a long slot. The slot is outlined with a narrow engraved line. In the centre of the lower half is a double-line circle divided into by the slot. Cast copper-alloy spherical bell. The loop at the top is rectangular externally and a small D-shape internally. There are two sound holes in the top half and two in the bottom half, joined by a long slot; the holes are arranged so that there is one in each quarter of the bell. Copper-alloy brooch in the shape of a three-dimensional bird. The bird’s head may be slightly damaged, but seems always to have had a short beak, and there are two dot eyes. The short neck curves down to continue into the back of the bird as a long ridge, with a folded wing to either side; the wings are outlined with more small dots. The dots are neater on one wing than the other. A double ridge, each one decorated with a fine groove which has now almost worn away, separates the body of the bird from the flared tail. Copper-alloy buckle with central iron bar, now almost completely corroded away. One loop was originally D-shaped with a rounded interior and pointed exterior to the outer edge; the other loop was originally rectangular. The sides swell slightly in the centre to accommodate the hole drilled for the bar. The buckle is undecorated and dates to the 17th century. It measures 27 x 20 mm and is 4 mm thick at most. Copper-alloy disc, 27 mm in diameter and 4 mm thick. In the centre of one face is a circular boss 8 mm in diameter, surrounded by a broad groove. There is a border around with relief decoration of eight stylised leaves, probably derived from acanthus leaf ornament. The other face is flat and undecorated with no apparent means of attachment. The decoration looks broadly neo-classical and so the object is probably 18th century, but its function is uncertain. 19.24g.

Circular domed mount made from copper alloy with corroded iron backing, probably a bridle boss. The copper-alloy element is 65 mm in diameter and relatively thin. It has a border groove and the flange around the dome has three evenly spaced but rather large and crudely made copper-alloy rivets which at first sight look like ring-and-dot motifs. Chunky hooked fitting made from copper alloy. The [looped] end of the curved part of the hook is broken off, but enough survives to show that the hook's cross-section was lozengiform with a lower carination internally and a higher one externally. The hook itself is large and the break is relatively fresh. On the back of the hook is a raised flattened area. The surviving end, near the raised flattened area, turns a right angle, but keeps the same cross-section, and becomes a straight shaft decorated with diagonal grooves running across the carination to give a twisted cable effect.
