Record ID: SF7572
Object type: COIN
Broad period: ROMAN
County: Suffolk
Workflow stage: Published Find published
Roman Republican silver denarius of Mark Antony, 32-31 BC. Mint moving with Mark Antony. Exceptionally fresh condition, suggesting that it was an import of the pre-conquest or very early post-conquest period. It certainly does not show the level of wear that most legionary denarii found in Britain do. These coins stay in circulation until the third century and normally show a degree of wear that reflects this.
