Small copper-alloy vessel, 43 mm high and a maximum of 31 x 27 mm in cross-section. The base is rounded and the sides rise with a very slight convex curve to a thickened rim. Part of the rim is missing but one small pierced vertical lug handle survives. Close to the base is a repair plug of copper alloy, with a small hole close by. The function of these small vessels is unknown, but Geoff Egan of the Museum of London has suggested that as they clearly held something small and valuable they may have been used to contain mercury.
