Lead spindle whorl, 31-32mm in diameter and 11-12mm tall. It has a flat underside, with a slight concentric groove, and a smoothly domed top which is decorated with five evenly spaced curving radial ribs or ridges, each c. 2-3mm wide. The central perforation is almost cylindrical, flaring a little from c. 9.5mm at the top to c. 10mm wide at the bottom. It weighs 57.2g.  Excavated parallels with good dates are few, but seem to centre on the late medieval period, perhaps 14th or 15th century.

Lead spindle-whorl of early-medieval or medieval date, circular and plano-convex, 25mm in diameter. The base is flat and the sides curve; the whorl is low, just 7mm thick. The central hole is large, a neat circle 12mm in diameter at the base tapering to a more irregular hole 11mm at most at the top. It weighs 24.22g. Lead spindle whorls seem to have been in use from the 10th to 14th centuries, c. 900-1400 AD.

Small lead spindle whorl, sub-circular and plano-convex. It has been damaged on one side, but the original diameter must have been c. 20mm and the base flat, with sloping sides rising to an overall thickness of up to 7.5mm. The central circular perforation tapers from c. 10mm diameter at the base, to c. 7mm diameter at the top. It weighs 10.7g. Lead spindle whorls seem to have been in use from the 10th to 14th centuries, c. 900-1400 AD.

Circular lead spindle whorl. In shape it is almost globular, 18mm in diameter, with top and bottom slightly flattened. They are not parallel but at a slight angle, so the whorl is 14mm thick at most and 11mm at least. The sides are convex and the central perforation tapers slightly from 6mm to 4mm in diameter It weighs 25.4g. In general lead spindle whorls are found from the 10th to the 14th century, c. 900-1400 AD.

Lead spindle whorl. It is conical with a flat base, an irregular circle 23-25mm in diameter. The sides are straight, sloping up to a flat top perhaps around 13mm in diameter. The central hole is neat and 11mm in diameter on the base, but is less neat at the top where it is 7-8mm in diameter. It is 9mm thick and weighs 27.2g. Lead spindle whorls appear to date from c. 900 to c. 1400 AD.

Lead weight, probably a spindle whorl. It is crudely made and irregular, perhaps crushed, with an oval base with a slight thickening around it; total measurements are 22 x 18mm. The sides are straight, tapering to a flat top that is more drop-shaped when viewed from above; it measures 15 x 17mm. The central perforation is also oval, 6 x 8mm at the top and 4 x 8mm at the base. The height is 17mm and it weighs 37.8g. Most lead spindle whorls probably date to c. 900-1400 AD.

Small plano-convex lead spindle whorl. It has a flat base and sides of uneven height, with a ridge running round the base in side view taking the maximum diameter up to 17.5mm. The sides slope in a slight curve to a slanting top; maximum thickness 7mm. The central circular hole flares from 6mm in diameter at the top to 8mm in diameter at the base. It weighs 10.6g. Lead spindle whorls are difficult to date. They appear to have been in use from the 10th to the at least the 14th century.

Lead spindle whorl, 28-29 mm in diameter and 12.5 mm tall, with a central circular perforation which tapers from 12 mm in diameter at the base to 10 mm in diameter at the top. The flattish base originally had a wide groove hollowed out around the perforation, but part of this has been scraped away recently, probably by agricultural machinery. The sides are fairly straight and the top is rounded, with two older scrapes across it.

Lead 'spindle whorl', plano-convex in shape. The maximum diameter is 35 mm close to the base, which has a hollowed-out centre with a perforation in the centre. The perforation is circular and tapers from 13 mm in diameter at the base to 9 mm diameter at the top. The upper part of the object is domed and undecorated, and it is 19 mm tall. Although these objects are known as spindle whorls, this one seems far too large and heavy for this; it may be a general-purpose weight. Undatable.

Two lead spindle-whorls. One is neatly circular, 24 mm in diameter, and plano-convex with steep sides, 13 mm in height. It weighs 44.52g and has a central circular perforation which flares from 10 mm in diameter at the top to 11 mm in diameter at the flat base. The other is more irregular, with an oval base measuring 23 x 25 mm. Again plano-convex but with more gently sloping and irregular sides, it is a maximum of 10 mm tall. There is a large void on the underside and it weighs 26.08g.
