An undatable lead weight, an isoceles triangle in shape with a rectangular cross-section (11.6mm thick) and a projecting loop for suspension at the apex. The loop is oval in shape and narrower (5.6mm) than the body of the weight. It has a central oval piercing 5.2mm wide and 3.4mm tall. The short edge opposite the projection is convex and has a longitudinal groove in the centre of its underside. A medieval (1250-1300) lead pointed-oval seal matrix with a pierced (and slightly squashed) lug to the reverse. The matrix depicts perhaps an eight-pointed star (a transverse with six projections to either side) with an inscription around, S' WIL' DE ASTERBY (the seal of William of Asterby). To the reverse the projection is D-shaped and bent to one side. It has a 1.9mm diameter central piercing. The matrix, without projection, is c.2.7mm thick. The object measures 40.8mm in length, 24.6mm in max.width, 9.3mm in max.depth (at the squashed loop) and weighs 19.29g.

A fragment of medieval (1150-1500) lead pilgrim's ampulla consisting of part of the rounded bottom half only, with a jagged tear (old damage) across its upper half. The ampulla depicts a petalled flower with raised edging and central pellet on one face (the break makes the number of petals uncertain; often such ampulla display four petals but this one may have had more). A lead weight or perhaps trial piece of probable medieval to post-medieval date. It is sub-circular in shape and roughly flat to both faces. One face has a trio of worn rectangular impressions close to one edge, while the other face has deeper impressions of longer rectangles, perhaps seven or eight in number, some paralell to each other but otherwise haphazzardly placed. Three of these show within them a pattern of five raised dots arranged one at the centre and two pairs either side. The object measures 36.7mm in length, 33.5mm in width, 5.0mm in thickness and weighs 29.37g.

A late medieval/ early post-medieval (1400-1700) lead vessel which has been squashed almost flat. The base is semi-circular in shape with flaring sides, extending into a prominent (and probably originally out-turned) rim. A wide concentric rib decorates the junction between rim and body, and what would have been the flat face has the initials HG formed of two thin raised ribs. At the base the vessel measures 44.3mm by 14.9mm. The squashed rim measures 80.2mm long and 21.1mm wide. The vessel is 59.3mm in length and weighs 107.53g.

A post-medieval probable four-part lead cloth seal, consisting of disc two and three only, and probably dating to c. 1525-1724. Both discs extend from either end of a bent connecting strip, a further flat projection extends from the second: probable portcullis of three uprights with angled ends (or possible black-letter initial) within raised beaded border // the number 6 or 9 within raised beaded border. The cloth seal measures 23.4mm in length, 17.1mm in width/ diameter, 3.3mm in thickness and weighs 4.70g.

A Roman (AD 43-410) lead anthropomorphic weight in the form of a human face. It is D-shaped in cross-section, being solid and flat to the underside, and ovoid in shape with one rounded end (the top of the head) and one more pointed end (the chin). A probably Roman lead votive model or miniature object in the form of an axehead. The object is trapezoidal in shaped and triangular in profile, increasing in thickness and width from the "cutting edge" (8.0x1.5mm) to the "attachment end" (9.7x6.5mm), where there is a central circular piercing (3.5mm diameter). The attachment end is slightly rounded with a lip/ overhang to one side only. The metal is a creamy-white in colour. The object measures 21.4mm in max.length, 9.7 in max.width, 6.5mm in max.thickness and weighs 6.72g. Cf. BH-38AFF9 on this database.

A post-medieval lead alloy circular token with the raised initials TC on one face and HA on the other, both with a partly raised rim. Lead tokens had a wide variety of uses and were made locally. They are difficult to date precisely, although those with initials are generally thought to be post-medieval in date (c.1500-1850). Other examples with this combination of intials on this database appear most commonly to be from Hampshire and the Isle of Wight, for example IOW-BBE9CD, IOW-638C35, HAMP-1D2A58 and HAMP-AC8D96. Most recently, HAMP-253150 which is from the same district ward.

An irregular cast lead die of uncertain, Roman to post-medieval, date (c.AD 43 - 1800). The die is oblong in shape (rather than a cube, suggesting it is probably home-made) with incuse dots indicating the values of each side. The die measures 10.3mm by 9.4mm by 8.0mm and weighs 6.87g. The opposing longer, wider faces are 6 and 5; the longer, narrower faces are 3 and 2; the short ends are 1 and 4. An incomplete post-medieval lead alloy composite button, missing its loop. It is biconvex in shape and hollow, with two blow-holes to the reverse. The front half is decorated with cast radiating lines from a central pellet. The spaces between the radiating lines are decorated with, alternately, a vertical line of pellets and raised transverse ribs forming a ladder effect. The button measures 16.5mm in diameter, 14.7mm in height and weighs 5.26g. Cf. LON-719EF2 and Read, 2005 (111), which the author suggests a late 16th-17th century date for.
