Workflow stage: Awaiting validation Find awaiting validation
An incomplete and squashed medieval (1200-1500) gold finger-ring with a pale-ish blue cabochon gemstone setting (perhaps a sapphire), missing a little over half of the hoop and probably two smaller gemstone settings. An incomplete medieval (perhaps 1250-1400) copper alloy 'animalier' candleholder, consisting of the head, body and incomplete foreleg, hind leg and tail of the animal. The metal is heavily pitted in places and all breaks are very worn and old. The peircings measure 1.6mm and 1.9mm in diameter, and around the larger on the decorated convex face is a scored circle 6mm in diameter, suggesting a circular attachment here.
