Fragment copper-alloy sheath-footed brooch with divided bow. Crest at each end and double-crest at centre above the wing case. Cylindrical wing case with perforated case ends enclosing sprung pin with nine turns surviving and with internal chord. A very unusual and well-preserved Gilded disc brooch with a carved glass central setting. The copper-alloy circular disc is divided into two zones by bold concentric ribs. The central royal blue glass setting is flat-topped and bears the boldly executed cast impression of a bird with raised wings and hooked beak which is most likely to represent an eagle. The outer ring has surface accretions, but it is very likely to have been decorated with ‘S’-shaped motifs. The back surface has a thin white metal coating. A complete and very unusual middle Iron Age copper-alloy brooch of La Tene 2B type and dating to the 3rd century BC. The short central bow is gently humped with small, central circular cavity beneath. At either end of the bow is trefoil motif consisting of three arms, each with a rounded end. The hinged pin is held between two extended D-shaped lugs which are pierced to hold the copper-alloy axis bar. The catchplate is formed from the return which follows through from the foot of the bow.
