The bow and wings only with corroded rusty deposit in one wing cover representing the iron spring but missing the rest of the spring, pin and catch plate. Relatively plain, simple type with a possible central ridge down the upper length of the bow and possibly over the heel. Very worn and corroded/erroded surfaces. A mostly complete, Early Roman, copper alloy, cast, short, stubby, Colchester 2-piece, B type fibula or bow brooch. It has lost it's original spring and attachment pin but, has a crudely made wire, now broken replacement, passing through the upper pierced lug and bent over. Incomplete, Early Roman, cast, copper alloy, Hod Hill variant fibula. It has a hinged pin with fluted and cross - ribbed bow. The Hod Hill brooches are true 'derivatives' of the Aucissa fibula. Type-Class A plain leg with broken foot knob, rib at the top with four further transverse ribs above. A complete, once circular but minus the pin, cast, copper alloy, small, Medieval annular brooch. Flat at the back, semi-circular cross-section with a moulded front surface consisting of twelve slightly irregular plain knops with radial grooves in between, two seem to join together with a shallow groove - a possible pin notch. A complete, Medieval C13-14th, copper alloy, cast, ring or annular brooch frame but minus the pin. The brooch is a fair size and hexagonal in shape. The frame has a semi-circular cross-section and six moulded knops which have been flattened and have a cross-hatched design on each one. There has been some wear but also an attractive silvery green patina with two opposing spots of rust on the frame probably from a rusty iron pin, now corroded away. A central oval section that may have contained orange coloured enamel of which there is just a trace left. A fragment of an Early Roman, copper alloy, cast and wrought wire bow brooch. A two-piece Colchester or possibly a dolphin or Polden Hill type. This brooch shows the first improved type of spring fixing using the axis bar. Here it passes through the lower hole of a flat lug protruding behind the head.
