Description: The coin is unclipped but there is an old crack to the edge of the flan, possibly from farm machinery damage, or from a flaw in the casting of the original flan blank. This has resulted in a small amount of lost material from the flan edge. A medieval, cast copper-alloy, D-shaped buckle. Description: The buckle is D-shaped in both plan and section with a flat back and convex front. It has an expanded forward edge and a slightly narrowed and offset strap bar flanked by knop terminals. The pin is missing. There is no pin notch. Measurements: Length 15.58mm: Width 20.03mm: Thickness 2.65mm: Weight 1.9g Discussion: Similar buckles to this are known from Early Medieval contexts, but they are very rare. This type of buckle is more typical of the 13th-15th century.

A cast lead furniture or strap stud, probably of post-medieval date. Description: The stud consists of a cast lead truncated pyramid. The apex of the pyramid is flattened into a circle and has four, evenly-spaced, integrally-cast, raised straight lines running from the edge of this circle to the lower edge of the stud. The base of the stud is flat. Projecting from the base, and off-centre, is an integrally-cast sprue, circular in section and likey used as an attachment rivet. Description: The fragment is sub-rectangular in plan with a curved upper edge. This curved edge is thickened by folding it over and hammering it flat. Description: The toy consists of a sub-circular disc with a serrated outer edge and two string holes close to the centre. The serrations are uneven and crudely cut. There is some damage to the edge with a large area missing. A medieval, cast copper-alloy strap end. Description: The strap end is constructed from two cast copper-alloy plates, soldered together at the closed end. Both pieces have snapped off just above where the plates thin to allow the strap to fit between them, and the open end, probably with a seperate spacer, is missing. The main part of the strap end is sub-rectangular in plan, but at the closed end it has a narrowed neck and then a decorative collared terminal which is shaped like a fleur-de-lis or trefoil. A medieval, sheet copper-alloy buckle plate. Description: The plate is rectangular in plan, narrowed at one end, and folded over to fit the strap bar of the buckle with a central notch cut out to accomodate the pin. There are five drilled holes for attachment rivets, one near to each corner of the plate and one in the centre. Four of these holes contain dome-headed copper-alloy rivets with the fifth rivet missing from one of the corner holes. There are traces of gilding over the front surface.
