Lead bag seal marked with ANGLO CONTINENTAL GUANO WORKS LTD & on the reverse LONDON.
The usual cornucopia trade mark is missing as is reference to LEEDS. An earlier or later version maybe subsequent to the Fisons takeover in 1937?
Anglo-Continental, originally Ohlendorff & Co., had been founded in 1873, and remained a German company until the First World War, when it was reconstituted under British control. It was taken over in 1937 by Fisons Ltd. and closed in 1946.
