A complete medieval or post medieval lead alloy circular uniface token, c. AD 1250-1800, Powell Class 14. The token has been cast with a raised design of a equal arm cross with a pellet in each quarter, all within a raised plain rim, on the obverse and a flat, undecorated reverse. Lead tokens had a wide variety of uses and were made locally; they are therefore hard to date precisely and could be medieval or post medieval in date. Until recently cross and pellet designs were thought to be contemporary with the similar medieval coin designs; however publication of moulds and double f…

Short length of gold strip, probably deliberately broken. In the absence of archaeological context it is not possible to assign this to any particular date or culture and is best regarded as an undiagnostic fragment. It is noted that two Middle Bronze Age ribbon torcs were found two fields away (2009 T435). The widths recorded for them are less in both cases. Due to the undiagnostic nature of the find it cannot be securely dated to pre-1710 and as such falls outside the provisions of the Treasure Act 1996 Gillian Varndell
