Record ID: HAMP-98A9F2
Object type: MOUNT
Broad period: MEDIEVAL
County: Hampshire
Workflow stage: Awaiting validation Find awaiting validation
A bent copper-alloy sheet mount plausibly of medieval date. The sheet is sub-rectangular with cusping at one end formed by two small triangular nicks. There is a small perforation in from this terminal . The other end is squared off. The sides are not entirely straight. The sheet has been bent twice, from one side and then more exaggeratedly from the other. It has a variable mid-green patina with some patched of off-white corrosion product in places. This may be a plate from a strap-fitting from something like a strap-end although it is difficult to be certain.
