A complete silver hooked clothes fastener of trefoil form. The fastener is constructed of five individual components. The main element is a backing plate with three spheres each with frilled edges and filigree circle decoration. Centrally is a separately attached frilled cup with a separate central rounded rivet. On the back the hook and the three-sided attachment loop also survive and are soldered to the backing plate. The hook is stamped with a maker's mark ; a shield with a pair of chevrons.

An early medieval silver sceat, Series E (Secondary type), c.720-40, probably minted in the Netherlands.
The obverse design belongs to Metcalf's variety C, although the obverse is different. Examples of the same obverse/reverse combination are listed in Metcalf and Op den Velde's sub-variety e (based on Variety C), especially numbers 1761-8.
