A single disc from a silver cuff link. The surviving circular fastener is a circular 'button' with a flange around the edge and a hollow reverse. The attachment loop is missing. It is decorated in counter-relief with a pair of hearts beneath a crown on a stippled ground.
This motif, commonly found on 17th-century cuff-links and buttons, may have celebrated the marriage of Charles II and Catherine of Braganza in 1662 (Read 2008, 98, no. 388; Treasure Annual Report 2001, 81, no. 153; Treasure Annual Report 2005/6, 139, no. 614).
