Medieval lead alloy spindle whorl, Diameter: 29.0mm, thickness: 14.0mm, weight: 48.98g The whorl is circular in form and bi-conical in cross section. Both faces are decorated with a crude motif of raised lines and dots. The whorl fits Walton Rogers Form C which she dates to 1100-1500AD

Medieval cast lead alloy spindle whorl. One face is decorated with raised dots in a circle around the central hole, the other with raised lines radiating from the centre. The side with the dots is slightly rounded in profile, the side with lines is sub-conical. The object is in fair condition and has an external diameter of 31mm. The internal diameter of the central hole is 12mm, the weight is 15mm thick and weighs 49.79g.

Early Medieval? lead spindle whorl, 40mm in diameter and 19mm thick. The object weighs 185grams and has a 10mm diameter central hole. It has slighty tapering edges and no decoration. The form of this whorl allows it to be placed in Walton Rogers Type B2 (2007, 232-6) which she saw as dating from the Iron Age through into the seventh century

Medieval lead spindle whorl, 29mm in diameter, 15mm thick and weighs 46g. Diameter of central hole 9mm. the whorl is circular in form and bi-conical in cross section. It is decorated on both faces with a crisp pattern of triangles formed of parallel raised lines, set at alternate angles. When viewed from above this forms a serie sof four chevrons seprated by a ladder pattern. The whorl fits Walton Rogers form C which she dates to 1100-1500AD.

The fabric not been positively identified past it being sandy.
