An incomplete lead alloy spindle whorl, possibly dating to the Medieval period circa AD 1200-1500.
The whorl is biconical in shape with steep sides, flat edges and a central circular perforation. The obverse is decorated with five visible transverse lines radiating from the centre with one pellet in between each, six pellets total. There is an area on the obverse which has been worn away where the decoration is not visible. The reverse is decorates with eleven transverse lines radiating from the centre.

In section, the spindle whorl is lozenge shaped. Both faces are undecorated and flat, and the object has developed a cream patina.

A complete lead spindle whorl of post-medieval to modern date (1500-1950). Walton Rodgers form B. The object is circular in plan, with a hole running through its middle. In section, the spindle whorl is rectangular. Both faces are undecorated but heavily worn. Both faces are flat and undecorated, and the object has developed a cream patina.

A complete lead spindle whorl of Roman to post-medieval date (c.AD43-1800). The object is circular in plan, with a hole running through its middle. In section, the spindle whorl is D-shaped. Both faces are undecorated but heavily worn. The object has no decoration and has developed a cream patina. It is hard to date spindle whorls as their form has remained unchanged since the Roman period.
