It has a flat base and raised design to the face. The raised decoration amounts to at least half of the width of the object and presents as four lines surrounding the perforation in a square; the four lines cross each other at the corners. It is of Walton Rogers form C2, unevenly bi-convex with a broad median ridge and a central, sub-circular perforation of internal diameter 7.1mm. There is a small, rectangular depression in the interior wall of the perforation. A medieval lead spindle whorl. The whorl is biconical and has a central circular hole of 8mm diameter. Both sides are decorated with four moulded lines dividing each facing into quarters. In each quarter are three moulded pellets. The design possibly imitates the long cross and pellets seen on many silver coinage issues of the 13th and 14th centuries.
