A complete stone spindle whorl of uncertain date. The object is made of a flint. It has been shaped through covering, scaled retouching on one side and the edges. The other side retains its natural, smooth surface until it meets the covering, scaled retuching at the edges. A sub-circular central perforation is present. The end of the perforation on the worked side of the spindle whorl is wider than the end of the perforation on the unworked side, suggesting that the hole was drilled from the worked side. A complete chalk spindle whorl of Early-medieval date (AD 700-1066). The object is bi-concave in section and circular in profile with a single, central circular perforation. The whorl is smooth and undecorated. Similar examples can be seen on the Portable Antiquities database Unique ID: NLM-9019C2. The metal is a light cream in colour. External Diameter: 32.27mm, Internal Diameter: 11.54mm.

A complete stone spindle whorl of uncertain date. The object is made of a soft, light calsitic stone which has been worked to be circular in plan with rounded sides and edges. A sub-circular central perforation is present and the whorl is undecorated. The whorl is 44.2mm in diameter, 14mm thick and weighs 31.4g. Spindle whorls were commonly used from the Iron Age through to the post-medieval period and are difficult to date with any certainty.
