A Medieval to early Post-Medieval lead alloy spindle whorl, dating to c.AD 1200 - 1600. The spindle whorl is of Walton Rogers form A1. It is plano-convex, D shaped in cross-section with some minor wear on the edges and round the central hole. The domed side is decorated with an irregular pattern of moulded pellets and ridges. A cast, lead alloy biconical spindle whorl with a central circular aperture (diameter 8.10 mm) of medieval date AD1300-1500.  It has a circumferential raised rib which is worn.  Both the upper and lower surfaces are decorated with a radial starburst design composed of triangles containing pellets and dots.  It has a light grey/light brown patina.   Thickness: 13.44 mm, Diameter: 28.48 mm, Weight: 42.65g.
